Buy a boat in Spain & the Mediterranean

Spain is where a large share of Europe's best boats are built and where most of them are first delivered. Barcelona, Palma and the Costas give you the deepest choice in the Mediterranean — and the most noise.

I work directly with European yards and their dealer networks, which means factory-accurate configurations and pricing rather than a marketplace listing that may or may not still exist.

What actually matters here

Factory configuration

Most of the boats here can be built to order. Getting the options right at the factory is far cheaper than fixing them after delivery — that is what the configurators on this site are for.

VAT and delivery

Where the boat is delivered and flagged changes the tax position materially. Worth deciding before the order, not after the deposit.

Med-spec detail

Bathing platforms, shade, generator and passerelle choices matter far more in the Mediterranean than the base spec sheet suggests.

Questions buyers in Spain ask

Can a non-resident buy a boat in Spain?+

Yes. Non-residents regularly buy and register boats in Spain; the process depends on the flag you choose and whether the boat is new from the yard or already VAT-paid in the EU.

How long does a factory order take?+

Typically four to nine months depending on the yard and the season, sometimes longer for high-demand models. Ordering out of season is the simplest way to shorten the wait.

Should I buy in Spain and ship elsewhere?+

Often yes — many of my Red Sea and Gulf clients buy from European yards. Whether it makes financial sense depends entirely on the brand, the model and the destination.
